The line that matters most to me is the "Complex fantasy system" line.
I am obsessed with complex fantasy rpg's, otherwise- i obviously would not be playing Powers & Perils.
According to the timeline, no complex fantasy system existed before 1977.
Where did this timeline come from? I think it needs a separate line for third party D&D supplements. There ws also a trend of making AD&D/D&D more complex with modular systems (Arduin, Rolemaster, the Compleat series).

It's interesting to note that the first licensed RPG was DALLAS.
Yeah, who would've expected to play as J. R. Ewing in an RPG several years before obvious licenses like James Bond and Conan.
The DROIDS RPG (1983) looks really interesting. Does anyone have any further info on that one or, dare I mention it, a PDF to peruse? Thanks.

don't know anything about DROIDS, sorry.
@Arcadayn: the timeline comes from "Heroic worlds".
